I am a native son of Rhode Island. After graduating from High School I entered the Brothers of Our Lady of Providence. Years passed after its founding in 1955 and the order was in crisis and many of the Brothers began to leave the Order. I was one of them. I spent the next two years working a few jobs until I began working at the Craft Work Shop in Pawtucket for the next nine years. I loved every day of work because I had to learn all the crafts we sold, (I flunked knitting and crocheting). During this time I earned my Associate Degree from CCRI and my Bachelor Degree from Providence College.
In 1980 I approached the Vocational Director for the Diocese of Providence and found myself assigned to Saint John Seminary just outside of Boston.
By the Grace of God I was ordained a priest in 1985. Bishop Louis E. Gelineau was the ordained prelate. My classmate, Father Raymond Suriani and I were ordained together.
My first assignment was Saint John and Paul in Coventry. My next assignment was to be full time Chaplain at Rhode Island Hospital at the same time in residence at Saint Sebastian with limited ministry in the parish. I was moved to Saint Elizabeth in Bristol for full time ministry and then transferred to Saint Mary in Newport. After Saint Mary I was appointed administrator of Sacred Heart in Woonsocket. From Sacred Heart I spent the next fifteen years as pastor of Our Lady of Fatima. After OLF I was appointed Pastor of Holy Ghost and Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Providence. From Providence I was appointed Chaplain at Saint Antoine in North Smithfield.
I am looking forward to being your pastor. I have heard so many good things about Mary Mother of Mankind.
